The popular Nigerian artiste chike ezekpeazu osebuka is popularly know by his stage name chike.The afrobeat singer, songwriter and actor who gained prominence by participating in the Nigerian reality competition project fame west Africa, became the trending topic on the twitter app and internet at large on the 13th day of August, 2024, after he gifted a troll who mocked him with the sum of 1 million naira. It all started when the artiste shared a video on his page in the microblogging site announcing his latest release. A troll identified as @hate_ofX, accused the singer of gaining fame through the late singer "Mohbad".

The singer chike who had initially collaborated with the late singer "ilerioluwa Aloba" popularly known as mohbad to make a song "EGWU" before the unforseen tragedy of mohbad's death occurred. The song EGWU which was the last  collaboration done by the late artiste became a household song in Nigerian and beyond as it eventually became one of singer chike's  " top-charting songs". The afrobeat singer chike who is quite known for not replying trolls, surprised the Internet space by giving his response to the troll, he clapped back by questioning the troll's upbringing and requested to send the troll a whooping sum of a million naira, to quench the hunger of the troll as he believed hunger was the reason behind his rudeness. In chike's words "i for send you like 1m now, make hunger comot your eye make you for see road but your account fit collapse, let the good guy (mohbad) rest in peace. Reacting to this, the troll sent his account details to the singer of which he sent him 1m and adviced him saying "I know say na hunger, hunger boy, oya go and eat.

The troll in question couldn't hide his excitement. When a neutral twitter user who was following the argument between them( chike and troll) asked to know if he (the troll) had received the 1million naira, the troll responded by saying " yes, e don enter now, if no be for hate wetin i for chop this night."  The award winning singer's unexpected gesture quickly went viral and captured the attention of Nigerians on twitter, who flooded the platform with comments.
